Duarte B Freitas

Working from his studio in Lisbon, Duarte B Freitas bridges the gap between traditional painting and digital innovation. While he studied acrylics at Lisbon’s Faculty of Fine Arts, his self-taught ethos led him to delve deeper into Cubism—specifically how objects can be fragmented and reconstructed through multiple viewpoints. This conceptual curiosity naturally evolved to incorporate digital photography and image transformation, combined with the use of acrylic paint, oil pastel e collage, among others.
The resulting mixed-media body of work uses both lens and brush to explore the conflict between the real and the abstract, condensing space, time, and memory into layered visual narratives.
Duarte B Freitas’s work has been highlighted in art publications and is held in exhibitions and private collections.
